adamthomas64 1
hi lads and lasses, i have, to put it bluntly, cocked up. i brought my new .17hmr last friday, my gun dealer typed up the notification letter that you have to send to the police within 7 days (can you guess where this is going yet)anyway my rfd told me to send the letter recorded post, incase it should be lost, so that was my intention first thing monday morning and i put it nice and safe in my glove box, well i forgot, my week has been crazy and i totally forgot until i went in there today, any way i took it straight to my local police station at 6:30 but the firearms team had left, it was truely a mistake, and now im panicking like mad, i just wondered if this had happened to anyone else? thanks for reading best regards adam Edited January 22, 2010 by adamthomas64 Quote Link to post

SEAN3513 7
the rfd dosn't have to notify them, but most do. i did a similar thing once, phoned up to explain my error and they where fine about , just asked me to send it asap. so you should be ok, they are very understanding Quote Link to post
speedystu 0
same here mate! no they don't have to send but do to be courteous and in keeping with the "done thing". but i also for got to send mine 4 days later i found it in the receipt for the gun, call my f/o and he said pop it in asap. job done..... best of luck........ss... p.s It is your responsibility to inform the f/o of an addition as you may buy it from joe public and not a rfd.....
