dumyat 0
This sounds very much like She is just not quite ready.Usually a bitch will do this type of behaviour prior to being spot on.Some bitches will never stand even on the day,but usually if you or someone whom she knows holds the bitch at the head end,it may encourage her to allow the dog to mount.Sometimes you will have to put a hand under her stomach also to stop her turning away etc. I have had bitchs do this and I usually hold them at the head and rub my hands up and down her back,so to speak,as the dog is at her rear and it helps to pacify her to allow the dog to set paws on her. It is difficult to explain in a few words but if you would like to e mail me i can give you more hints and tips etc Quote Link to post

Hoolit 2
I had a similar problem with a lab bitch a few years ago ,she almost took the dogs face of on 2 consecutive days . The bitch would stand let the dog lick around backend lick her face but when he climbed on to mate she spun round with a flash of teeth snarling like hell, we then carried out a forced mating where we put the slip lead on her neck the normal way and wraped the remainder around her muzzle more for my safety than anything else I then put my arm under her belly to stop her siting down the dog then got on with the job and a litter of eight pups were born 63 days later . Not an ideal situation but this was a clients bitch and he wanted these lines kept going. You have to be very carefull with a young stud dog when mating to a bitch like this as it can put him of the task. PS our stud on this day was an old pro (bad choice of words) at his job.
