Line breeding......Collie lurchers...

I currently own a half cross collie greyhound, but i know that a few people on this forum prefer a line bred collie lurcher. It would be intresting to know how many people have put the time and effort into breeding their own line of border collie based lurchers. I think i remember someboby called "David Jones?" advertising years ago in Shooting news/countrymans weekly who occassionally had collie bred lurcher pups for sale and obviously B.Plummer, but other than that i am a little out of date who breeds their own strain.

 

It would be interesting to see pics of you dogs and details of the trials and tribulations youve had along the way.

So come on who's out there trying to create their own collie lurcher strain.

My old mate dave slieght had a strain of collie lurchers over 20 years ago he out crossed to one of hancocks dogs.Last time i spoke to him he was praising the australian herding dog crosses i got the impression he rated these over the border collie hybreds.atb dell

A couple of my mates had 1st x collie/grus, I always thought they lacked a gear, great workers though,

 

another mate swears by beardie x's, he reckons they have the best feet out of all the types you would use for breeding, cheers.
