jasper65 6
Managed to make contact with a lad today with one of them fandango styrup pumps, after a crippling few hours pumping the f*****g thing up and another half day in traction I got out and zeroed the rifle. the gun zeroed in lovely with Daystate Pellets but I then decided to give it a whurl with some old Eley Wasp pellets my lad uses, Big Mistake!! it shot all over the place .... To cut a long story short I then spent about 1/2 hour in the woods and accounted for one woody, to be Honest it was lethal! for the first 5 mins I spent wacking some pellets in a knot high up on a Beech tree, It consistantly chipped a lump out of the bark within the size of a old 10 Pence peice virtually placing the pellet in the same chip each time.... Finally a Pigeon came in and was shot, I know its going to sound total Bollox but the pellet went straight through both eye sockets of the bird, it was pure shit I know as all I did was centralized the cross to the centre of the birds head!! you get the Impresion with these Rifles when they're zeroed in you just point them in the right direction and they do the rest. all I can say is I'm Happy as Larry with the rifle in everyway .... atb Jasp Quote Link to post
sibaldib 6
Lovely looking rifle. I'd be afraid of dropping it in the mud or it falling over - far too pretty for hunting! Cheers Sib Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
Cheers all! I'm made up with the gun ...... Just out of interest lads!! I brought a 15 Litre 232Bar Bottle a while back in test! the guy I picked it up from told me it still had plenty of air in it, anyway today I managed to get the high pressure hose for the tank and decided to top the gun up! for some reason it only gets to around 150Bar and stops filling the gun however much I open up the dive tank? .... Is this because theres not enough Air in the tank or is it because its only a 232Bar tank and I should have got a 300 Bar job? any info would be apreciated cheers Jasper Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
I prefer a 300bar, but your 232bar should pump up your gun, what reading do you get on the gauge when you pump up your gun? Sounds like you only have 150bar in your bottle Quote Link to post

Sounds like you only have 150bar in your bottle I think you're right Stealthy!! the guns Gauge reads the same 150Bar. I should get a few shots out of it but I have just found out the closest place to get the bottle charged won't be opening until the new year, seems like I'll have to get the Old Webley Vulcan Springer out again mate if this runs out ...... jasper65 6
Took the gun out Yesterday for a quick Mooch behind the aviaries! Pigeons was getting out of the Ivy all over the place without a decent clear shot. Finally came across one with its back to me out on a branch further up the wood, I gave him some slight holdover and the pellet hit home! It was obviouse this one was hit in the swede by Crack the pellet made when it hit hone compared to a dull thud. It took me ages to find the f*****g thing as by the time I wandered over I forgot what tree it was in , thankfully after about 15 mins and re-tracing my steps I finally found it in the empty Pheasant pen. you'll have to take my word for this one as this morning it ended up being quartered and fed to the birds.... Took another wander this afternoon! this time I was a bit more Patient after a earlier missed shot at a squirrel, he was high above me near on virticle so I put the cross hairs bang on his swede and missed over him <Lesson Learned>, I waited a while after he disapeered into the Ivy and managed to just pick him out when I saw some movement, this Tree rat was shot under the chin. to cut a long story short his pal decided to come out to play from the next tree furher up but no clear Head shot so he was shot behind the front legs and downed... All in All I'm loving it and Kiss my gun goodnight every bedtime cheers Jasp Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
I’m glad you’ve finally picked a gun Jasp it looks a good bit of kit. Don’t neglect the Springer though. Nice one pal . I won't neglect the poor old Webley Vulcan!! its still got plenty of welly left in that gun compared to alot of stuff nowadays, the guns about 25 years old and a bit bashed up but still shoots sweet, I have a pal who's a bit set in his ways who will only shoot springers who will give it a good work out the times he come down!! I just wish I could get a .177 barrel for it..... By the way!! love the Avitar of Gordon Jasp nice shooting jasper & nice rifle too & pics Cheers mate! I had a couple of Pre charges about 10 years ago, a old webley axsor and a Falcon Raptor, both did the business but the axsor <Carbine> did about 40 shots and the Raptor about 65! charging them up with one of them styrup pumps put me in traction. I passed on both guns and havn't had another pre charge until now but I'm made up with this gun!! it feels a bit weighty compared to the last two but I'm now getting used to it and enjoying every minute ...
