Ali N 0
evening folks, two questions for you tonight. what is the best way to work on training my lab pup to stay in the back of my landrover (110 double cab) and not want to jump out all the time. Secondly. Does anyone know of anything to fit on the tail gate or the tub that will cover the gap between the two when the gate is open. I am worried about himn breaking a leg by it slipping in the gap. Thoughts and tips greatly recieved. Quote Link to post

Hey Ali, you could always fix some rubber sheeting to the tail gate that folds down onto the floor when its shut & then when you open it it will then lay flat across the gap? Also have you thought about a dog crate that you put the dog in whilst in the back. Then when you open the gate the dog can still see out but not get out, kind of like a double door system? Ali N 0
dogs would be in the tub part in the back, not internal to seats etc. Thought about gluing some rubber on, but wasnt sure if there were any actually things around for it. Even if I went for a travel box, he wouls still have to jump up on the tail gate and could slip across and leg drop down. Does anyone have any experience of what I am talking about or am i talking nonsense. Quote Link to post

hily 380
don't leave it to chance put a dog box in the back even if you buy one it's cheaper than a vet's bill.. as for the gap i got some hinges and made a flap and fastend it to the tub floor the flap covers the gap and goes over onto the tailgate so when i shut the gate the flap moves on its hinges and closes with the gate.atb Quote Link to post
Ali N 0
Thanks for the replies folks. Just need to find some rubber now and get a transport box. That leads to the next questions what type would be best and where to get it from. He has a cage for teh house but not sure that would be right for using, might work if cargo strapped down. recommendations gratefully recieved Quote Link to post
activeviii 8
I use the crate type on the back of the truck with no problems. if the backs open then just zip tie some perspex or estate agent board to the top and side leaving ht door clear. go to machine mart and get some of there cheap floor mat and put under the crate and up the tail gate so when you open it the map drops down with it.
