After the second cancellation this week first a family crisis and second the dreaded flu, and the miss on Sunday and close encounter yesterday morning I decided at 2.55 this afternoon to go out since there was a dusting of snow

 

Driving six miles from home and down to the wood I was in position by 3.15 and gloved up.

I was waiting for the yearling my mate Mal orphaned last week.

 

Then from no where 3 deer ran at me. They were going to be as startled as me.

Winding the scope down as they got to me I pulled the glove off with my teeth.

The first stood 20ft from me looking back at the other two resting the cross hairs on her she dropped to shot

Reloading I swung on to doe no 2 another adult bang she dropped range 35 ft.

The yearling doe ran 10ft parallel to me stopped as I reloaded and bang she dropped to about 40ft from where I was stood.

3 Very clean carcasses just what my order was for the butcher for Christmas

furthest shot about 40 ft. . All dispatched with 1 shot to the atlas joint free hand.

Now came the hard work to extract 3 deer in the failing day light

Hence the photos in the headlights and 1st time with the cameras timer.

Nice result Robbo i can just imagine the struggle extracting 3 Roe,lol.

Lol.Not so much the struggle but having to load yet more deer ,i know the feeling John.Nice free hand shooting by the way .
