ferret_uk 4
For the past few days when going 2 bed we hav heard a noise up in the loft so me and the father went up and seen a fair bit of installation ripped into pieces. Last night the noise was a lot lounder so we put up a wireless camera and stood some poision on the floor we seen 5 rats eating away at the poision but there is defintly a family full. When pest control come out all there using is poision but the rats are unbelievable any suggestions ?
topshot 0
hi mate hows it going shouldent have really put poison dwn in the loft. i personally would have traped first and used poison as the last option. The reason bein is in a few days time when the poison takes effect you can be shure that mr rat will find the most hard to reach place to die sumtimes unretrievable and the smell of a decaying rat is terrible. Im sure other pesties will back me up on this one. anyway all the best mate and i hope you get the problem sorted soon topshot

We had a terrible fusty smell in the airing cupboard a few years ago....on investigation it was a wee dead mouse. It was hard to believe that such a stink could come from something so small! All the towels and bed clothes had to be thrown away. What a stink! To this day we keep a baited trap in there just incase.
ferret_uk 4
I totally agree with what your saying lads but its the bloody councils bright idea for the poision. Out for a easy life i suppose. I am in north east and wondering if [NO TEXT TALK] has a trap i can borrow for a few days
mally 832
My friend has a pest control company and he uses traps and sticky boards in loft spaces, for the reasons already mentioned. You don't want the smell of dead and decaying rats in the house as they smell terrible. Also it's a good idea to look how the rats are getting in to the loft space. Look at the guttering downpipes as there a favourite they can get up these as easy as anything.
mooshka 22
Good advice already given... Hope you get some traps soon.!! You definitely don't want decomposing longtails in your loft !! I have just dealt with mice in my loft and the bigger ones outside... hopefully keep them under control. Good luck ..
