PROTECTIVE DOGS

OK,how are your dogs at night whilst out and people come near ,as i no we all like dogs which are freindly with kids and people,but how do your dogs react when your out at night and you come across somone and which do you find more protective a dog or a bitch

my black dog is very protective over me when we come accross people whilst out lamping and only when out lamping.even with other dogs as in male dogs when they come near .dose my head in trying to get lamping partners with bitches.atb shaun

edited to say the one in my avatar and adding not like going to bite them protective just pushes them away lol

a mate of mine had a collie whip grey and she was real protective at night if he did not no you you would not get near him

My mate D.Slieght had one years ago that was a swine with strangers and it used to trigger his brothers protection dog off and that was one beast of a dog.atb dell

I had a black lab bitch,lovely dog but if anyone came near my gun or

cartridge bag,dog or man their was trouble!

Not a running dog but this post reminded me of her,it was the only time she ever showed aggression,

and i dont think it was that bad of a trait! Never got to breed her,she died at 8years old,sorry now...

I had a collie bull grey who would stop anyone coming at me in an agressive or otherwise iffy way :whistling:

ive got collie bull grey pup ,he is good as gold but wont mind him like that at night if any 1 about

All my ACD lurchers have had varying degree of protectiveness, from good burglar alarm, growling on the lamp to warning strangers coming into the garden if im with him in there.

hees a bull grey collie grey mate to be precise 5/8grey 2/8bull 1/8 collie
