I have been researching falconry but i would like to know from the people on here who actually do it.Please dont tell me to forget about the bird and get a book, i will as i am very keen to do what i can to get started and learn the basics like , accomodation, basic care, training e.c.t. Thanks hope you guys can help. Quote Link to post

liftboy1 0
I recommend more reading boy, In my opinion a raptor is to hunt. Obviously evenings or weekdays is sort of training if you like such as jump ups. I fly weekends only and keep fit every week night. Falconry has to be done properly, cutting corners will only spoil things further on. In my opinion, read a couple of books and try and find some austringers or falconers around your patch or join the IFF. A few good books are falconry and hawking which is fairly old but is a cracker, sky hunters and any book written by jemima parry. ATB Quote Link to post

trappa 518
Its a massive commitment so you need to get one for the right reasons. Buy some books and take your time with them. Quote Link to post
