druimmuir 1
Spend 5 or 10 mins with each pup on their own with you and judge how they react, if they are keen to come to you, take a sock or a hankie and see if they will retreieve for you, how old are they just now ? I would normally do that 7 or 8 weeks old to see what they are like, most of all go for the one you like, liking a dog/pup means you will put 100% into him, if you just settle for one you will train half hearted, at those ages it's a lottery, good luck Nicola Quote Link to post

Look for the hip & current eye test minimum & see the dam & how they bred from & why & try see the sire or pics. I do like them with dark eyes personally but i sex it & then get all that sex i like together & give it ten mins whaching them but to be honest i breed my own & get the chance to see them day by day & see the pup that sticks out to me. You have such an impact on that pups life when you take it home that its how you bring them on that makes & breaks the out come. I see so many dogs at say 20-24months old & the owners still treat it like a puppy & say he's only 2yrs old & all they have done is hold a good dog back training is an art but not realy that hard as it is the basic's that is the foundation of it all so walk before you run. PS my dogs aint great but im lazy when training & like my school report used to say i could do better. Quote Link to post
