The quickset longnet. Can it be used for dropping at night?

Sorry iv'e never used a longnet, have seen a few being used during the day.

It looks like more and more people are using this traditional method.

What would be the best set up? 50yd, 100yd, or 2 x 25yd?

I see that most members on here have used the Net Loft. Is there a waiting time for these nets?

Thank You.

Start small and get used to running out on level ground in daylight I wound't worry about quicksets for the time being just get used to handling the net and avoiding tangles!!! and pegging out

Some very good advice. There are many things that can go wrong at night the most frustrating is getting the net stuck on buttons, zips or the eyelets on your boots, only practice makes perfect. P1

Thanks for the advice.

Reference the yardage of the net, Salcalin did you mean 1x 25yd net or 2x 25yd net?

I'm really interested in this method and i would like to use one on some land i have gained which has not been ruined and not worked on for years. Like some one has mentioned I will need to get use to setting it out before i go out and use it on the rabbits.

Maybe someone can show me how these work.

Thank you.

It does not matter if you run out a 15yd net or a 25yd net or a 50yd net the proccess is just the same. The only difference is the time it takes to run the net out. It takes as long as it takes.

Simples ;)

TC

Exactly! And buying 2 25yrd nets to practice is a money wasting exercise, Because within no time at all you will learn to run out a quickset with your eyes closed, And the 2 25yrd nets will be hung up in the shed after you buy a 100yrd net.

If you were using a traditional, I would advise learning on something smaller like a 50yrd, But as Tiercel said, with a quickset, it makes no difference, just the time. Quicksets are simplicity itself.
