CUPCAKE118 0
Have had my semi for a while now have fired 100's of carts with no problem but recently she jams when you fire off the first shot. it doesn't do it every time !!!!! what happens is the shot fires, the spent cart is ejected but when it goes throught the load cycle it allows one and a half carts out of the mag. In simple it doesn't retain the 2nd cartridge out of the Mag and thus stops the loader flicking up!!! Any ideas???? p.s it seams to cycle ok on 3 inch carts but not smaller!!! i have used 2 and 3/4 before with no problem! Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
What weight load you firing, as i know in some semis the 28g load will not cycle fully so try some 32g and see if you have been shooting the 28's.... Snap. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,491
Odds are the cartridge hold spring (catch) has got a little floppy, try a longer cartridge, if that works then I was right. Have you changed to a shorter cartridge recently?? Worth a try regardless! I don't see this one as related to the cartridge power! But hey hoe, funny things happen sometimes! Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
cleanliness is key with semi auto's and as snap shot says......32g cartridges cheers sean Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
i've also seen paper cartridges jam in the semi auto's as they tended to be a little longer when fired... but i'd never had a problem in my browning cycling, but my mate can't use below 32g in his semi auto... Didn't see that first time round...like I said above this has nothing to do with cartridge weight/power in my view. The Guns operate in a very similar way to the Hatsan, which also has this problem, as the cartridge ejects the next is loaded and a stop catch pushes up to hold the last cartridge in the magazine. If the spring gets slack then it does not push up fast enough to hold the last cartridge back and therefore you get a jam. An alternate is to use a longer cartridge as this gives the spring time to push up the catch...as you have found...it's a standard replacement part on the Hatsan, not sure about your gun! Like I said before, I could be wrong but my money goes with this! Edited December 2, 2009 by Deker Quote Link to post
