WELL FELLAS ,

THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ....... BUT BOTH CAN BE UTILISED IN SIMILAR WAYS FOR HARES AND RABBITS ........

THE NETS SHOWN ON HERE RECENTLY AND CALLED HARE NETS ARE NOTHING OF THE SORT ... JUST STOP NETS ,

THE GATE NET IS A FINE TOOL FOR TAKING HARES ...... BUT WITHOUT FIELDCRAFT , KNOWLEDGE AND A DECENT DOG ....... THEY WILL HANG IN SHEDS UP AND DOWN THE COUNTRY GIVEN UP AS A BAD JOB LIKE 99 % OF OTHERS ......

ALL THE BEST

A stop net is a long net usual placed threw a hedge from one long net on one side of the hedge to the long net on the other side of the hedge.Or across a bury that has been surrounded by long nets.

It is called a stop net because it STOPS the rabbits running along the hedge or across the bury from hole to hole.

A gate net is set along the bottom of a gate (hence the name) to catch hairs leaving the field under the gate.

Hope this helps P1
