Ron Weasley 83
This might be a contentious issue but what are people's opinion of feedind fox meat to ferrets? I ask because as my freezer begins to dwindle, I've been in touch with one or two mates that I haven't seen much over the summer to remind them of my constant need for kill, and was immediately met with "there's a fox in my freezer if you want it?" I've read about people feeding fox, but does anyone on here have any experience of it? Opinions please!! Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
In a past life, when I used to dabble in a bit of Taxidermy, I had a mate who'd bring me the odd fox. I'd take the head off, to mount, and he often asked for the back leg 'hams', to feed to his ferrets. I tried mine on some, but they wouldn't touch it. Personally; Not f***ing surprised! You ever sniffed fox meat? Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,631
Ive never fed one and probably never would but out of interest would freezing kill mange? Also cats might give them flu? Apparently they stink like feck when you cook one in the kitchen too :11: Gnipper Quote Link to post
Guest Jane Russell
No, I don't think freezing will kill mange mites -- well it might kill a few but almost certainly not their eggs. You'd need a freezer capable of temps much lower than a domestic freezer I think. Jane Quote Link to post
