iceman001979 1,316
Bring your dog out during the day with other dogs and ferrets and dont put it back on the lamp for the next couple off months dont think a dog should be put on a lamp till it knows what it is doing during the day .If your dog stops during the day then yea have a proplem because there is no excuse for a dog 2 stop if it can see it it should chase it but your dog still young and some dogs dont come on till about 18 19 months . my mate has a hancock dog and this dog just wont left a rabbits in the bed it just stands looking at them till they move its funny for us but not for the snowman it drives him nuts but best off luck with the dog and let us know how its gets on. merle24 61
Did you feed her during the day before you took her out on the lamp ? yes mate feed them at mid day.which its that time now one of the boys are barking now cos he knows its feed time and he won't stop barking till he gets is grub so time to go and do the duties.atb hl. There may lay the prolem mate ?, its a good way to slug a dog down before a race, same goes for coursing or lamping, knocks the edge wright off my dog, he still runs and catches, but hes nowhere near as sharp when hes had a feed earlier in the day, when he does go out once hes had feed he will run CLOSE stuff ok, but when there is a distance between him and the quarry he will run it halfheartedly. A handfull of biscuit in the morning and a god meal when he gets back, and thats does the job for him, hes a different dog otherwise. How much do you feed the dog in the afternoon ? itsnormal meal amount ? Edited November 18, 2009 by merle24 Quote Link to post

Dog needs to replenish what its burnt mate, they will cool of on way home, good drink and grub is fine straight away, just like us with a hard days graft, wouldnt worry about that, Try just a good handfull of food in the morning before dinnertime, so then dog is not full if the weather is good to go, and the dog has had a bit inside it aswell as the night before, as sometimes its a last minute thing, then feed and water when you get back, if youre feed twice the next day the dog deffo not be able to run that night after so youre making things hard for youreself when theres no need imo. Always feed at night as you never know if you will be out that night. its worth a try mate. Quote Link to post
