Quixote 9
Has the collar snapped close to the transmitter? Or could you maybe get away with stitching it back together? Mind you, if the rest of the collar's worn through, you'd be as well replacing it right enough. I imagine you'll need to cut the collar off close to the transmitter mate? I can't imagine you'll be able to unpick the sealant with any great ease. As for replacing it? It might be a bit tricky, but if it were me, I'd use silicon to bond the transmitter onto the surface of the collar, & try tightly securing it with insulating tape? The danger is though, if it gets damp (which is likely) the adhesive on the tape could give way & you lose the transmitter..............or the tape might snag-up your fert. Another thing that might be worth a thought is to drill a couple of 3mm holes down the side of the casing so you can put a couple of self-tappers in through the collar? I've no idea how close the componets are to the resin though, so you'd need to be prepared to knacker the unit if it went tits-up Just a couple of ideas Quote Link to post

dogger 100
gently hold the collar in a vice and cut through the line of adhesive with a junior hacksaw slowly but surely ,once through the collar should slip out,put the new collar in and replace the adhesive line with epoxy reson glue or no more nails ,just leave in the vice to set and job done to be sure i always put insulating tape round mine to make sure the cap doesnt come of hope this helps atb n Quote Link to post
