dave1372 83
Went back down to the chicken farm last night as the other night we saw 5 foxes but foolish I only had 3 bullets! Anyway it had been raining quite a bit and we had to keep off the fields and stick to the tracks as I didn't fancy putting in another midnight phonecall to Jimmy to drag me out of the mud! As we drove down the track to the top chicken shed I stopped the car and kept the lamp off and put on the NV on the rifle and there it was heading off into the distance. I tried calling it in but it wasn;t interested and it lingered by the fence on the boundary (400 yards away). We decided to sit and wait a while and put on the fox calling cd occasionally trying different tracks to see if anything would appear but nothing. After nearly an hour we were just about to move on to a different spot when Jamie spotted a fox, I started to try and call it in but it was very hesitant and it kept its distance. As it just stood there trying to suss us out I decided it was worth a shot even though I could tell it was further than I would normally like to take a shot. I took the shot and down it went, when we got to it and then shone the lamp back at the car and put the range finder onto the cars it was 191 yards, my longest shot with the NV scope so far. Quite pleased, I would have been gutted if I had missed! Quote Link to post
