flyinbonnie 0
has anyone had any experiance with remote spray collars opossed to E collars? i have had various problems with my dog during his training but have overcome all through persistance, but he has developed a problem which i cannot get him out off, he shows aggression towards other dogs when in the car with them. He tenses up and sits and waits for something to touch him and then lets loose when they do! i need to try something fresh and have seen these spray collars which seem handy im not opossed to the E collar but im just weighing up options. It makes going out lamping stressful for me and is getting out of hand. any advice welcome thankyou
littlefish 588
The safest option may be to travel in cages, completely separate. I would say that a dog in full rage mode would not register the spray from one of these collars. And scrapping dogs in a car does not bode for a safe journey for anyone.......? Guest chook
Never ever use them for aggression, as it could make the dog worse, if you spray and the dog ascocates it with the other dogs, then it could end up with you not being able to even get the dog in the car with another dog, muzzle or crate when in the car. Oh and ecollars should never be used either for aggression, not unless you know what you are doing or have a trainer helping you.
flyinbonnie 0
Thankyou some valid points brought up there! he is muzzled at the moment purely for peace of mind but he still shows aggression with it on but to less effect, the dog he is most in contact with in the car is his brother who is as laid back as can be. I will knock the spray collar idea on the head. thanks for the replys.
Cold Ethyl 63
Sorry as this will sound nasty but Spray collars can be used in agressive dogs in certain circumstances my bitch would fly at other dogs for a while after she got in a scrap with a staffy and if they came too close she would try to kill it.I have used a spray collar with great sucess not for the actual stopping of a fight but to stop her before it happens when i told her no and she didnt listen and shes a bull cross. You would need to get someone else with you and it depends the dog my male froze when he had it on but my bitch did well with it worked a treat on her.Shes very eager to please and doesnt like me being pissed off with her though.Your timing has to be spot on too.If no joy there i would go for a muzzle.
