Rolfe was the original wrote in the norfolk dialect, seem to remember reading it many years ago. :)

 

Yes it was written as he spoke spelling mistakes and all........brilliant book for anyone interested in rural life in and around Norfolk in the late 1800's.

read it as a 13 year old boy a classic i stayed and hunted down that way old guys said to me one day thaats alovly olde dawg you have ther is it alercher boy can ee catch aair i says yes we caut several over the year or twi stayed there good crack and fond memories 16 years ago

Was reading the original just last night again so looking forward to this one,hunt a lot of the land he used to go on around Bungey and Beccles way,even had a mooch down a path called Rolf's way the other day lol.

Was reading the original just last night again so looking forward to this one,hunt a lot of the land he used to go on around Bungey and Beccles way,even had a mooch down a path called Rolf's way the other day lol.

Yes was in Bungay last night for the book launch.......lovely old town. Also i have walked the same highways and byways around Pentney and Narborough that old Fred walked and also the Old Lodge he lived in when he was a Keeper.....lovely part of the country Norfolk and Suffolk.

Didn't know about the launch or would have looked in on our way to the marshes last night,not sure about the lovely old town though lol.Still were doing our bit that the norfolk poacher ain't just a thing of history ;) ,could call it a rural duty were carrying out really :D .
