comanche 3,298
I'm a sad child at heart so when a visit to my local Poundland revealled that they already have a good stock of seasonal Halloween goods I could'nt help but invest in one or two items . Not that I agree with 'trick or treatin '-AKA demanding sweets with menaces . I could however see some darkly humerous milage in my grisly purchases . Fast forward to this morning. My grandchildren are visiting, I'm supposed to be cooking lunch and the trap is set . "Oh ",I say to the six year old girl,"can you get some sausages from the bottom of the fridge?. " I watch with disinterest as she reaches for a freezer-tray and peers intently through the celophane . Instead of recoiling in horror she (Just 6 years old remember ) looks over, and screwing her nose -up asks "Is this for the ferrets Grandad ?" Just what you may ask is it that lays within the fake supermarket meat tray with its authentic cling-film wrapper and realistic product label complete with sell-by date? . The answer :- a convincingly modelled fake hand ! Not content with asking if I was going to feed it to the ferrets the Grandchild , completely unconcerned that Grandad may have found another use for Internet brides and having prodded the rigid plastic anounced that it was still frozen ! stealthy1 3,964
Its not just kids that fall victim to the supermarket onslaught, super market advertising is deviding the slaughterhouse from the product so that only they have the capacity to sell food to the masses, if its not turkey twizzlers it aint meat, its aimed at making meat eaters feel like vegetarian, and it works Quote Link to post

Still when the countryside is finally concreted over and we are all supposed to be surviving on a PETA regulated supply of freeze-dried plankton I know that my angelic -looking Grandchildren will not be starved of protein thanks to their nonchelent acceptance of what even today are considered the less fashionable cuts of meat and the Mail-Order bride connection .
