Rabbithunter 456
Dont know if lads at work are trying to wind me up, but they have told me next week i am working away from home & lodging. "NO F CKING CHANCE" was my reply. When asked why not, my answer was simple "animals cant look after themselves" Now, i havent signed a contract and there is no chance am i working away with the tw@ts i work with. Anyone know where i stand? Would i have a good chance at a tribunal (unfair dismissal - £££) if i was to be booted for not going? RH

MOLL. good point, but wouldnt it still be unfair dismissal????? I dont think so. Its only unfair dismissal if they have forced you to do something not in your contract. It would be your word against theirs. They could say at interview you were made aware you may have to work away and you agreed at that time. Im no legal expert mind. These are just my theorys. MOLL. hairyface 211
they can only proceed with a disiplinary procedure, if you refuse to do something that you have contractually agreed to do, if you havnt signed a contract(and some companies dont make you sign one when start working for them) they cant force you to do anything because at the end of the day you still have rights, the best thing to do is join a union like the T.G.W.U( transport and general workers union) and see what they say,
