paulxpalir 0
i was bored tonight so i decided to have another drive by at one of my favorite permissions bunnys a definetly getting thin now as my total must be 50+ this year from a 5 acre ish site. on driving back home today i noticed the farmer pulling his plough about so i had to get in there before he tore all the place to bits. anyway i got over there about 9.30 ish and had a mosey about, he had ploughed about 2/3 of the field and left me a note to say he had seen my tyre tracks all over his field and thanked me for the lack of rabbits digging his field up. had a drive about and shot 3 nice clean kills, THWACK as davy would say, forth one seemed to drop but got a good heart shot, more by luck than judgement, any way i decided to gut them there and then as they were still fresh, had a drink and rang davy to gloat (lol). after drinks i decided to go by foot along a hedge line that is usally pretty good, and tonight was no different as another bunny fell to a AA feild 4.52. sat just at the end of the hedge row there were 3 sat there having a munch, so down on one knee, line it up on the crosshairs, breath, pull trigger, nothing, forgot to cock it, bummer or words to that effect, a quick rattle of the bolt and i was ready again, breath, bang THWACK, down it goes. the other 2 are sat there, dont know what to do, i recocked the s410 but must have been a bit noisy as they scarped, damn. started to head back to the van with the bunnys and my lamp was nearly dead, i just had my head torch on and i could make out 4 or 5 running for cover just ahead of me. at this point i decided to call it a night. I got back to mine and went next door to see if TUBS wanted any, told him about my night, and he offered me his lamp as it was fully charged, brill, so the pair of us went out, him spotting and me driving and shooting (he dont drive), any way we saw 1 in the headlights, missed it, damn, see another a little further down, again missed it. we decided to go for a wunder around the hedges but nothing, and we started heading back down the track and one jumped out, a rabbit doing a lemming impression, anyway he got it as well. all in all not a bad night 7 in total Quote Link to post
