Guest david1976
The old chap I keep bees with has asked me to get him a gate net and i'm wondering if anyone here can point me in the right direction. It has to be 12 feet long and reasonably heavy I suppose 6oz as there are a lot of hares in the area. Looking for a man made fibre type that will be easier to dry than hemp ones. I have seen these on ebay for about eight to ten quid delivered but not sure what the quality would be like. If anyone can help please let me know. Cheers David. Quote Link to post
Guest RN-Rabbit-Control
Specifically for hares? Quote Link to post
Guest david1976
It's mainly for rabbits however he says there are a fair lot of brown hares in the area as well so I would imagine they will hit it quite frequently as well. Quote Link to post

ferreterni 29
I'm glad you put that picture up, was wondering how they were done. Then do yo just peg the ends down and support on a couple of wands? Do you need to add bagging or is it like a goant purse net and just purses rond them? 12ft of net for 12ft net or do you need 18 or 24 ft on a 12ft net? Sorry for daft questions. Quote Link to post
Guest david1976
Thanks for those who replied or pm'd me with some useful tips. 12 Foot may be short for modern gateways however it is the size of the ones where i stay so I got a 12' 6oz one off of ebay for a tenner delivered - cant complain at that price. I know it's not a handmade one which would be nice but the mesh will be perfect for rabbits and if I set the net up to purse will work for hares as well. If I get on well with it I will invest in a better quality one and drop you a pm mick. Can anyone let me know where I can get a copy of this glenn waters book/dvd on gate netting please. It seems to get a few good reviews on this site. Cheers David. Quote Link to post
