landl10 0 Posted August 24, 2009 Report Share Posted August 24, 2009 Hi, I have a Whippet he is 7 mths old, he chases rabbits but just cant seem to catch them as yet, will he get better with time or ( when older ) he gets very close to catching but they seem to turn a little to quick How old were your dogs when they caught their first rabbit???? poacher3161 1,766 Posted August 24, 2009 Report Share Posted August 24, 2009 Give him time and not too much running.Just out of curiosity wat strain of whippet is he out of because to very good mates are exspeiriencing problems with their adult dogs that just want to run and not pick up and this i have wittnesed with my own eyes.They are not novice dog men with over 50 years exspeirience between them with variouse lurchers.atvb dell Quote Link to post

old real tree 92 Posted August 24, 2009 Report Share Posted August 24, 2009 hay mate i had the same problem, dont run it too much or it will loose its confidance, mine started catching about 12 months, it was like the penny dropped and over night was a diffrant dog, my whippet is a laguna strain and is sooty sam lines, Quote Link to post
