my mother owned one. and as said above. they are not very exiting to watch. however they are not meant to be. they are very easy going and are simple to train. there main strength is there nose . they have a nose like a blood hound. would be ideal for hawking rough shooting ect. the one we had was a very likable dog , recomended for a stress free hunting partner. also would make a great stalking companion. hope this helps.

having seen them working at working tests in uk and seen them actually working in Italy, I cab recommend them.....as long as you dont mind their large size, quite a lot of hair and dribbly beards so not to everyones taste.

Hi Elma

 

I dont shoot deer so haven't had the chance to train or use her for deer stalking.

 

We've come across Roe while out and about and she's steady with them.

 

As Clean Spade said in his post, they have a hell of a good sense of smell and would have no problem following a blood trail.
