andybrock 2
I’m considering buying a ULV machine for cluster flies. What machine do you use and how do you rate it? I have thought about the one Killgerm have but at over £500 plus extra for the bag I can’t warrant spending that kind of cash on something I know little about. Andy Quote Link to post
Matt 160
Andy Go for the B&G flexilite fogger, which gives various particle sizes from ULV upto fog. It costs alot less than the other microgen type machines and also has the added advantage of being able to use any liquid rather than the expensive microgen type bottles. You can also use it to fog disinfectant and other products. Need remote control? Simple: just use an extension lead and switch the machine on from outside the room. Quote Link to post

Thanks for the reply Matt, Is that the B & G model 2600 Fogger that Barrettine sell? Cheers Quote Link to post

Matt, What product would you recomend putting through it for a cluster fly treatment in a residential loft space, I thought maybe one of the RTU's sprays like Insectaban or Pelgar super strength fly spray would do the trick or would a standard residual spray be suffice? Thanks again for your advice Andy Quote Link to post
Matt 160
Whatever product you choose to use has to be approved for that application method, i.e. if you are going to fog or ulv, the label must say that you can. I use Aquapy through mine, and treat any alighting surfaces with a good residual (like insectaban). Quote Link to post
longnetter 32
I've used a B & G for several years now...great tool. Recently I've seen a mini fogger on the market that'll do exactly the same job for less than £200 (SX Enviromental)which I like the look of and think would be ideal for in domestic and light duty commercial situations. As a general purpose insecticide I use Tenopa bit on the expensive side but it does what it says on the side of the can and I use it thru the fogger as well including cluster flies another I like but haven't used for a longtime is Cimitrol (might be taken of the mkt now) used that thru the fogger as well . Good Luck Quote Link to post
