ferret food for nursing Jills

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

What ferret food do people use for their Jills when nursing,i have been using the dried food soaked and then blending it and adding a bit of cat meat just to give it a bit more taste ,anyone got any recipes that they have found particularly good, mine seem to like it ok as the dried food seems a bit bland on its own.

Always feed mine on pigeon, try and find someone who races birds in a club, come the end of the racing season every flier thins out his stock, offer to collect any birds they've destroyed to save them binning them, word soon gets round and depending on the amount of clubs in your area you could end up with literally hundreds of free ferret dinners :clapper: , I freeze all mine then use them when the jills are nursing, just defrost them and drop em in the hutch, they really bring on a litter of kits as everything they need is in that bundle of feathers , just make sure there's plenty of fresh water and you should have no probs :D
