chartpolski 27,577
love it well in that rabbit is massive bet u got a good run off it! regards dan Not In August He didnt, avoid "big Rabbits until late Sept" That "big rabbit" was a fit, healthy, adult male, given plenty of law; not a leveret or pregnant or milky doe, so why wouldn't it give a good run, in August as oppossed to September ? Cheers. ,and weve got people like you ,holding up dead summer hares like trophies for everyone to see ,think about it. Get your facts right !!!!! Where on this post do you see me holding a hare or "big rabbit" ??? Read posts carefully before making accusations. LDR is very capable of replying himself, but I think he put up this post to see who would be the first sanctimoniuos, holier than thou pratt to complain, well done, it's you !! You didn't answer my question, what makes an August hare an easier run than a September hare ? If you think no one from your coursing clubs ever ran a summer hare, to bring on a pup, quitter or whatever, your'e living in dream land. Of course we don't make a habit of it but accidents do happen, and please don't twist words, by "law" I meant the distance the "big rabbit" was from the dog when it lifted, not how much stsrt was deliberatly given. Cheers. Quote Link to post
LDR 29
Its called a forum mate where you share thoughts and experiences with likeminded folk, there's a facility at the bottom of the message page where you can attach photos onto your messages, you've gotta prove intent mate and seeing as there were no hunt monitors around and the dog weren't slipped on it, it clocked it from over the other side of the field, oh well these are the knocks, you'd prob have had countless accidents like these in your coursing career....... LDR 29
One more thing, you say leave them till october..... do you think that will make it more legal......... Quote Link to post
inan 841
accidents will happen ab ote name='longdogrunner' date='Aug 4 2006, 07:35 PM' post='107368'] Its called a forum mate where you share thoughts and experiences with likeminded folk, there's a facility at the bottom of the message page where you can attach photos onto your messages, you've gotta prove intent mate and seeing as there were no hunt monitors around and the dog weren't slipped on it, it clocked it from over the other side of the field, oh well these are the knocks, you'd prob have had countless accidents like these in your coursing career....... Thats a reasonable reply,if as you say it lifted in front of the dog while it was free runningOk but why post the photo? accident s do happen. When you said it had fair law you can see how someone would think the dog was slipped on it. We all like a record of our dogs catches ,Ive got vids of my dogs running in competitions, photos and what not.Just dont think this is the time of year to be posting pics of big rabbits.I wont bother replying to your echo ,I dont think we are on the same wavelength. cheers. chartpolski 27,577
Hi INAN, If by "echo", you mean me, let me assure you I'm no ones echo !!!!! YOU accused me of posting a photo of a summer hare, WRONG ! YOU assumed the dog was walked-up and slipped on the hare, WRONG! Did you admit your mistakes ?, No, you just "won't bother to reply". You talk of "antis" and the "end of the game", perhaps your'e an anti, maybe you have never been in the "game" ? I have been in the "game" for over 40 years, I hunt, shoot, fish, coarse, lamp, ferret, etc, as much as my time and budget allow, and will continue to do so as long as phisically possible. Let me give you some advice; read post carefully and get your facts right, and if you make a mistake, as we all do, hold your hands up and admitt it, don't just "not bother to reply. On different wavelengths ? I sure hope so ! Cheers. Quote Link to post

On different wavelengths ? I sure hope so ! Cheers. No where in my post did I say an August hare was stronger than a September one.You are missing the point ,hares are not sold between March and September ,why?,because its the breeding and rearing season, like wise they werent coursed [before the ban]during this time if youve been in the game as long as you say surely you know and agree with it?. I got your post mixed up with Long Dogs ,probably because you steamed in while he was replying to me ,he took the trouble to reply to me and explain what happened the confusion began when you said "that hare was given fair law",which implies the dogs were deliberetly s lipped ,if you had said the hare -big rabbit whatever jumped while the dogs were off there would have been no mixup..I am not an anti ,i lamp shoot ,ferret, and course[bTB],I still dont think any one should be posting photos of caught hares on this site, particularly now ,with the LACS,just getting their first successful conviction against a huntsman this week.the antis dont need anymore ammo andthey probably monitor this site.I dont want to get into a running debate with you,you asked for an answer, you have it. chartpolski 27,577
You keep saying DOGS, it was DOG singular, and you still cannot admit you were wrong with your accussation and assumption. I was there you were not, you don't know what happened, only jumped to conclusions. I have said of course we don't deliberatly hunt hares in the off season, but when you are out with your dogs as much as us, accidents happen. Grow some balls, accept your'e wrong and get on with your life. End of. Cheers. Quote Link to post

LDR 29
Went out to give the dogs a little exercise this morning round a couple of local spots, just managed to miss the rain, .......... .......... Didn't really see too much although we did catch this big rabbit by accident........... This was the opening post...... ......if you read it carefully, you'll notice the words 'by accident' at the end...... ...... Inan you're saying that because chartpolski said it was given fair law, that meant we had intentionally walked it up and slipped the 'dogs' on it.......... .....if you read another part of one of my replies, it says the other dogs were by the gate, indicating that only one was off, not that i have to justify it, but just to clear up any confusion, this was because the black dog was the only one to jump into the field and have a look around........ :thumbs-up: ....... 'the hair was given fair law' or 'the hare had fair law' either or really, i'm sure we're not gonna be nit picking over the usage of one word, thats the antics you'd leave for the courtroom........ ......... the guy who's just been prosecuted for illegal hunting has no relevance in this, he was prosecuted for something totally different, and as for why post a picture, why not? we didnt do anything wrong thats why? maybe in an ideal world it wouldn't have happened, but in an ideal world we wouldn't have to live by laws, that have no impact on the lives of the people who voted them in...... :realmad: ....... you say we're giving them evidence by posting pictures on here, you're giving them the arguement, looks like between the 2 of us they wont have much more work to do on the matter...... ...... why would chartpolski not jump in and defend what we were doing? A: he's a mate, and B: he was there too, so by trying to pull the post to bits it was directed at the pair of us....... ........ f**k LACS and the same goes to anyone who sits on the same side of the fence as them.........Be lucky and stay away from them naughty hares trying to get you into trouble......... LOng DogRunner I have no problem with you, you explained what happened and I accepted your word. Your mate however seems to have a separate agenda ,throwing out personal insults " grow some balls " , this doesnt impress me ,I expected better from a man who ,he says has been running dogs for 40 years,,what is he ,in his 50s time to grow up there s nothing wrong with my nuts as some people could tell you but thats by the by, any way good hunting IN THE SEASON.
