robgriff1 4
Had 21 kits total from 3 jills, 6 weeks old now & all healthy except 1 which seems to be blind. Its feeding & drinking ok, & finds its way around the hutch with the others so I'll just keep it. Now I know ferrets eyesight aint too good & it doesn't matter underground anyway but does anyone think she would be able to work? Might seem like a daft question but I can't see why not. Anyone have any idea? Quote Link to post

Anyone have any idea? I had a blind ferret a few years back, and i would take it out rabbiting, she did just as good as the others Quote Link to post
robgriff1 4
Thought as much. She's just as strong & fit as the others so she'll get a good home with me(the mrs will probably adopt it!) Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
I would work it, not like there's much to see down a deep bury anyway. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
In a dark burrow it won't be at a disadvantage, it may even make it better in that it won't follow flashes of light as rabbits exit the warren, it may peep a bit though Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
Probably easier being born blind than loosing there sight after a few yrs i would say Quote Link to post
