Your better off holding a springer softly and letting your body `absorb ` the kick rather than hold it real tight , which makes it worse . Quote Link to post

Thought I better add you are quite right they do play funny games with the forward inersia of piston & spring & then at the end of comprresion stroke, don't want to be kicked off. foxon.
