bi-pod on springer?

Recommended Posts

Guest buster321c

It just dont work me old son , the kick you get from a springer makes it worse when you try to use a bi-pod . Your better off holding a springer softly and letting your body `absorb ` the kick rather than hold it real tight , which makes it worse .

ok this might sound like a stupid question.. but im stupid so there you go :D

how come i cant find anyone that uses a bi-pod on a springer? does it damage it at all?

thanks :)

No your not stupid it's normaly the action of breaking the barrel on a springer that would defeat the object of haveing a bipod directly in the cocking arms way, right smack on the forend, unless you have a side lever or some under levers.

thanks for the replys..

i thought it was something like that but didnt know for definate

I have a bipod on my Ruag 57 side lever, this is a very heavy carbine, kicks like a muel but still holds target out to 35yards, same on my full bore 50 BMG now I would not shoot this without bipod.

Thought I better add you are quite right they do play funny games with the forward inersia of piston & spring & then at the end of comprresion stroke, don't want to be kicked off.
