benefits (housing etc..)

Recommended Posts

My girlfriend gets the housing benefits etc.....

she's going on holiday and im wondering if i can "house-sit" for her, without worrying about her getting in bother with the benefits people.

Basically, i'd stop over a few nights, and leave my car their so the house looks "lived in"

if she is on holiday, i couldnt see a problem with me staying there, even every night, as i dont reckon i could be classed as "living with HER"

any advice welcome, though i reckon i might just ring the benefits to be 100% on it

believe me, she couldnt live off what she gets off the socal, her step-dads cousin had a caravan at a seaside location, she gets it for a week, for the price of a bottle of whisky.

Got a problem, why not start a new topic "STOP!!!! Rabbithunters g/f's benefits"

anyway, if we could please get back to the topic?

ignore some of the idiots on this mate

stay three days a week but pop in every day to collect post so stop it building up and making it look clear no one is home, and perhaps turn lights on in the evening that should be fine mate and hope your girl friend enjoys holiday

p.s to those who start bitching bout someone being on benefits / surely during current times with 1600 people losing their jobs A WEEK people could just grow up be mature and understand that some people need a hand, and before ye turn on me i'm currently self employed plus extra jobs on top and do not claim, but i am down to earth to know not everyone is lucky,,,,feck sake give them a break and stop starting fights!

Fair play to you I work 6 days a week so these tossers can sit on their backsides all day and have holidays paid for by the good old taxpayer and I wont be getting a holiday this year

Sometimes I feel like chucking it all in and joining all the piss takers

do it then mate, if you think it will make you better off..

you'll soon be wishing for work

shouldnt sterotype.

My lass HAS got a JOB.

In fact, she could probably recive Carer's allowance also, because of a condition her son has. But chooses not to, you know, to be different to the sterotypical benefit recievers.

Make what you will of it, as i personally couldnt give a fu-ck. As i said earlier, if anyone has a problem, start a new topic and have a rant on there

My Mrs was a housing officer for 18 years with the local authority and she still works with the local housing dept! dealing with tenants who abscond, anti social behaviour, rent arrears and the legal implications and obligations of being a local authority tenant ;) she deals with benefit issues every day Her advice is as long as you can provide evidence that you stay and reside elsewhere your allowed to house-sit while your girlfriend is on holiday She also say's a three day rule does'nt apply in this situation!! but if you were to be staying at your girlfriends house for an excessive length of time and your girlfriends on housing benefit and not declaring you there?? thats a different matter Ex-partners who have kids can stay for a limited time even on benefits if they have kids

Tom

Ps: she also say's you don't have to inform anyone if she's on holiday and your house sitting, why? let the housing benefit or the social know about a matter thats private between between you and your girlfriend anyway, My Mrs say's your only keeping an eye on the property and thats a benefit to the landlord!!!!!!!!!!!!
