S200 1st Blood

Recommended Posts

Hey guy's

I went out last night up to a mates permission with him. Had two serious Thunder Storms and got soaked running back for cover on the second one :(

Took the S200 for its 1st session.

Spent half hour on the plinking range to get used to it before we wandered round the HFT course and made out way into the fields.

When I was consistently hitting the 11mm killzones from 15 to 35 yards I felt confident that I could do what I wanted to and drop bunnies with one shot.

Must admit though, took a bit of getting used to not having any recoil. I also got to have a couple of shots with my mates HW90 with Gas Ram. Wow I am deffinately saving up for one of those! The action felt good :clapper:

Anyways, a good few bunnies out between the storms, but couldn't get within range and I didnt fancy long shots with the wind we had. My mate took a few long shots but he bagged nothing this time around.

Walking round the tractor I saw a few bunnies just less than 60 yards away, my mate continued in the direction we were heading, I dropped back and went towards where I had seen the bunnies. They saw me and bolted  Little gits. I saw them dissapear behind the cover of an old railway wagon so I headed up the field using the cover of the old wagon between me and them.

As I came quietly round the side I saw a few bunnies the nearest about 20 yards the furthest about 40-50.

I decided on the nearest which was giving me a 3/4 side on view. Raised the S200 and placed the crosshair right behind its eye. Squeezed the trigger, a little Phutt, and I could have SWORN I heard 2 yep 2 Thawcks! Bunny jumped and landed on its side a couple of kicks and twitches then nothing. The other two bunnies dissapeard into the foliage seperating this field from the HFT course.

Walked over and I could see what caused the 2nd twack. The .22 AA Field had gone clean through the head and twatted a trunk of the foliage behind the bunny.

When I skinned the bunny, I looked at the damage to the skull and this was carnage. The pellet had gone in where I had aimed but decimated the cranium and brain was mostly mush.

Sorry for the graphical detail, but I have an interest in GSW's and the carnage that they cause. Sort of an off shoot of the hobby.

Despite the lack of kills (was hoping to bag at least 5) I really enjoyed the evening.

The only thing I disliked was the throw from the Tesco Torch in the field. Its great up to 15 maybe 20 yards but looking for bunnies with it was not brilliant when it was dark. Strange how when in the garden it will light up the walls of building 50 yards away with ease.

nice shooting phantom! wow, your scope has a big (please excuse the lack of technical terminology) front bit!

what is it x56?

Cheers guy's,

Aaron yes its a 3-9 zoom by a 56mm (heres the terminology for you) 'objective' lens

The front turns for rangefinding, but I dont think I shall me using that much.
