What chest size is the biggest you would put to ground

I can span my bitch so got no problem. Way i see if the terrier wants in enough it will get there

 

Ya the reason I ask is because my russel has a farely deep chest but has been to ground several times while ive been out bushing with him. Going to try him on a dig over the winter as I will be getting a locator for my ferrets anyway but I think I will measure him first and If ye think he is too big to risk sending to ground then I wont bother cheers!

spannable is for shows if the dog wants the quarry and can get there it will small chest usually produce small head that cant take much punishment if the dog gets there and make contact i dont care what size they are as long as it stays till i get there

Id reckon he be ok . It was probably a stupid topic to start in fairness to dee mac. I was just wondering If any of you had a general rule that if a dog was over a certain size he wouldnt be entered or only in certain places etc... Cheers for replys
