I went out today to do a bit of bushing with my 2yr old Russell for my whippet, put 2 or 3 rabbits out ,good runs but all missed by whippet, was'nt that bothered, just glad to be out as in-laws are visiting. Anyway, in one field, the wippet ran a young fox to ground, which to my supprise was followed down by the russell, she's only a bushing dog and even though i tried to introduce her to this type of work late last season, she showed no interest. It was a rabbit hole, and wasn't deep, i waited and listened for 30 minutes and as i had no tools for the job with me, i had to ring my da who arrived shortly with bar and spade, quickly located her and only had to dig 3ft, she had already dispatched it herself. I had planned to purchase a dog for the coming season to do this type of work, but not a chance now, i'll put my time and effort into her .

I know it is out of season and fox is only young, but this wasn't planned. Came home smiling and as proud as punch, some pics attached. :D

i bet you did pal and this also proves give the dog time and effort and it will reward 10 fold atb cheers mike.
