bullmastiff 615
It was a cracking night, I was sat at home bored and saw it advertised in the local paper so thought bugger it, I knew it would be a nice drive down and my daughter loves the hunt shows as everyones so friendly. They were running a tout on the races, so you could make a bit of money back on your dog! Terriers, family dogs then Lurcher races were held in several heats in groups of five ,uphill over about 120yds. Tia my 7yr old Bullmastiff won the family dogs! she was racing against a GSD, a labrador, a spanial and a pointer of some sort. not only did she beat them but she then retrieved the lure back to the start line! lol got a few laughs as even bigger and uglier overtook the GSD and pointer!!! A few people were nervous of her at first as she's carrying marks on her face and muzzle but when they saw my 3 yr old daughter hanging off her they started coming over to chat. Stella and Scrumpy Jack were only a pound so got a good few of them on board. Then the Lurchers were up, There were some really nice looking Lurchers there and I presumed Roo wouldn't stand a chance against them. Roo's last was a really tight race, but Roo managed to pull away from the others just as they came up to the line so he won as well!!! Apparently there should of been rosettes and sweets for the kids but as so many people had left by the time the finals were run they didn't bother. On the way home it was too much to resist and had to pop the lamp out the car window a few times lol and again had a few really good runs and two rabbits in the bag. I don't know how he's done it but Roo managed to graze both pads on his wrists??? (back of the front feet) he jumped back in the car with the rabbit and I noticed he left blood marks on my trousers so checked him over and found they were bleeding but it doesn't seem to be bothering him so I'll leave him to it for now. Still better than sitting in watching the Tennis! Cheers Luke.
