jenksi87 3
just wondered, providing that you have the ticket, the right gun and presumably a fair few quid to spend. what kind of power can you get out of an air rifle? and what can you expect to get out of an air rifle that starts its life as an 11.5 ft/lb air rifle forgot to add wether a springer or pcp would be the best to tune? ghillies 209
30fp in .177 40 in .22's pritty coman, but to the extremes of one shot airguns (and carrying a 3litre bottle) there's guys dropping elk in amarica with a 9mm and a few bore hunters using airguns...these things AINT the narmal airguns though lol. yu got to pull the springers barrel, but 50fp's max ish if want it to last any legth of time... weirachs at fac can get 24fp's with boggo standard kit springs its how long is a peace of string question really... because your trying to keep the pellets sub sonic, so as the power goes up you have to find spetial heavey pellets to keep the velosity this side of about 900 fps...(barring exseptions). so .22 or .25 are obviously heavier, so at 900fps they can have more fp's behind them if you know what i mean... question is do you need it? might be better going into rimmies or HMR stuff... but the main thing is whats the land rated for..each patch is rated individualy so an FAC airgun will be ok one place.. a rimmie or center fire another. (that and what game/quorry/pest you aiming for.) ooo yed, almost forgot, people asume ''yehhhhh 50fp! blow um tu bits, can just aim any where on the body and get a kill''??? nope!! even with a center fire you can wound a rabit... so still have to hit it right lol. Me peronally, I can't imagine shooting at a rabbit with anything other than an air rifle, makes a right mess! Quote Link to post
