The one 8,592 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Share Posted June 27, 2009 Dont think two mothering jills will kill them but untill there hormones settle down they will drag them back to the nestbox all day long ,maybe marking up the kitts etc so your just giving the kitts a bit of breathing space .Ive pipes in hutches that jill can get into but the hob cant and they go there for a bit of peace Quote Link to post

runforyourlife 361 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Share Posted June 27, 2009 Runforyourlife, I think you maybe right ,I dont think they will be scared for long as I handle them lots and they seem to be very confident kits.And when I say ive an other hutch, it is 6ft long and 4ft wide. The mother is not dragging them around but like I said in first post its the other Jill that made me think a bit with killing her young at 2 weeks old. You see I am keeping all the 8 week old kits therefore I want to put them all into the big hutch. I could wait a bit longer to put them all in together. cheers Nym, just go for it mate, they will be ok. I dont think the mother would even let the other jill be to rough with them. And all animals are dragged about by there necks when young, they get used to it. I have 2 litters on at the moment, and i am speaking from experience right up to date nym... Quote Link to post
