There maybe a lot of noise sniffing and tugging at necks and so on, but yeah. Why do so many people think that ferrets are that nasty just because they hunt to stay alive. You would have been able to have kept them together while they both had kits, they wouldd have just helped each other along the way pal.. Quote Link to post
nym 0
Thanks for your advice mate. I dont think that ferrets are nasty, I should have put that the other Jill Killed 10 of her Kits and was wondering if this may change things putting them all in together cheers Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
Yeah you should have!! What the point of asking that advice, i think it is self explaining Quote Link to post
The one 8,592
You might want to put a few bits of pipe in that the kitts can get into but the jills can't ,so the kitts have a safe area if the pulling about by the neck is to much for them mate Quote Link to post
nym 0
Yeah you should have!! I gave you sound advice, then you put something which changed everything.... Like all the social workers, all checked out and vetted. Then someone says yes this guy is good. Forgetting to put that they have been in trouble with police, then somethin happens, it all comes out but it is to late....The damage is done...You could have said thanks a 1000 times or not at all, the advice would have been the same.. sue 1
they should be ok ,same as the one said give them somewhere to hide in ,they will be a little scared being moved to a bigger unfamiliar place Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
They are ferrets, scared. We enter them into dark holes in the ground, come on. They will be settled after a few hours, Its not as if they are alone... He said he had a cage, not a ferret aviary, surely the tubes would take up so many ferrets room in the hutch... nym 0
Thanks Sue, The other Jill ate her young when the kits were under 2 weeks old, So I didnt think that she would kill another Jills Kits at 8 weeks old. But it came as a second thought after I'd posted my first post. I made a mistake not putting it Sorry Quote Link to post
The one 8,592
They need somewhere to go to give them a rest there might be two jills pulling them about all day Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
So basically the only advice you wanted was, for someone to tell you to put a tube in. lol. Ok sorry i misunderstood your question... Afgood ferret can get into most stopends/situations, so why would a tube stop it killing them if the ferret wanted to.... come on, it wouldnt would it. The one 8,592
So if your mother was pulling you about by the ear all day that would be fine you would ask for more and no try to find a safer area where it would stop??? Quote Link to post

He asked if they would be safe or get killed.... I dont think a tube would stop another ferret killing them, if the ferret really wanted to... Quote Link to post
nym 0
Runforyourlife, I think you maybe right ,I dont think they will be scared for long as I handle them lots and they seem to be very confident kits. And when I say ive an other hutch, it is 6ft long and 4ft wide. The mother is not dragging them around but like I said in first post its the other Jill that made me think a bit with killing her young at 2 weeks old. You see I am keeping all the 8 week old kits therefore I want to put them all into the big hutch. I could wait a bit longer to put them all in together. cheers Quote Link to post
