This is a rushed post as I did about 3 pages and vista just closed internet explorer and I want to smash my pc.

Hi all, havent posted in quite awhile after the year long massacre of my permission, hundreds of rabbits dispatched and finally a huge wave of mixi seemed to have wiped them to the brink. However with the new coming of spring and summer, unbelievably they are back in force and are quicker and smarter than ever. Throughout most the permission air rifles are used as they are best for the job, most fun and safest. One field is enormous and we occasionally just sit in the middle and take out rabbits with a .22. Theyre are alot of hares and even though i said I would never ike to shoot a hare but one was comign right for us and it felt right so took the hare at about 50 yards to be sure with good headshot. However my heart lies with airgunning so most the pics reflect the work of the Weihrauch. Over the last few evenings I have made a huge ammount of accurate long range shots, some up to 50 yrds droping rabbits like stones. Its all really re-enforced my trust in 12ftlb equipment. If you can hit that spot your good for upto 50 yards easy, obviously I dont recommend pot shots at 60 yards, but I have knocked quite a few down recently and will keep doing so with a mixture of real stealth, stalking and waiting.

All the best,.

Guest air gunner

Hi nice shooting what is your air rifle zeroed at? I spent the morning seeing how far my gun shoots before the pellet drops. mine is doing 11ft lbs and 40yrds is pushing it without the pellet dropping. is yours gas ram or tuned for smoother shots etc.

No its just standard 12ftlb spring. Havent had it chrono'd and dont really need to I dont think. My guns zero'd at the moment for 25yards bang on centre. Just because the shot is dropping doesnt mean it isnt a worthwile shot, If I am say shooting at something at 40 yards and I'm zero'd for 25yards you will need to account for the drop and aim that tiny bit higher, like half the heigh the a rabbits head above exactly where you want to hit. Just test your distance and targets and tune yourself to how far you need to aim above to land it bang on at most the stages up from whatever your zero'd at.

Haha yeh wouldnt usually go for a front on shot usually is worth just holding tight for a few seconds for a better angle but knew I had this fella and his head was proper looking down so I knew he would take the full whack.

More to come haha
