Just wondering if any of you have any experiance with the newer models of the stealth?? The older ones had a bad reputation for being inaccurate and for the valves being very tempremental. Ive had two in the past, the first was a dream to shoot and was a bit hot straight out of the box, the second one I had I couldnt hit a barn door with :11: no matter what I tried with it. Ive had a few rifles since including the weirauch hw 100 but I fancy having another stealth so would appreciate your thoughts before parting with my pound notes

stick with the older ones and change the barrel i have a weirach barrell on mine and it shoots very acurrate

I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole I believe if your gonna spend decent money then get a proper gun not some pile of junk that can't hit anything

You've never shot a good one then? I was getting groups the same size as that from my S400 with my stealth. Granted I had modded It slightly but there good groups. I've bought some other parts that will hopefully reduce group sizes even more...

 

Youngo, I got mine S/H and had to play with It, change a few parts etc. TBH I'm still not happy with It despite groups that I can cover with a 5p at 25 yards. I like the rifle though and don't mind tinkering but If you're looking for something to shoot well straight out the box there's plenty of other choices.

but why pay good money for a gun that needs modding to make it worth shooting?

Why not? I got mine cheap S/H and I like playing with rifles. Taking something that's not much good and making It VERY consistant and accurate Is something I like doing. I was getting a good spread of a few ft/lbs differance from a full fill down to 130-140 bar. That tank In the pics below Is regulated. I've only just had chance to shoot It tonight and will be testing It fully and at differanct pressures over the weekend but I was getting 3 FPS variation between the small group of shots I managed to fire off. Pritty good I thought, And because It's a regulated tank I should be able to shoot It from a full fill of 200 bar right down to a couple of hundred psi above what the regulator Is set at and It should be just the same output pressure.

 

Here's mine as It Is now, A little ugly on the arse end but with consistancy like that I couldn't care!

 

 

 

What power have you shot them at and what were noise levels like? I've shot one almost at 40 ft/lb and that made a fair crack and jumped like a springer. Shooting them down to about 20-25 ft/lb then they get abit smoother I found.

Hi maty, where did you get the reg for the bottle and can you fit it to a standard stealth bottle?

If I am going to spend that sort of money, I would want to get out with it and do some hunting and not have the kit car version of a rifle having to spend more cash and time making it work the way it should do when it comes out of the box.

The thing that bugs me most is that the people at gun power know what people are doing with their new guns to make them work and take none of it on board to improve them from the get go. I for one would not buy anything of a bunch of turnip farmers that are obviously so resistant

to product improvement.

I was just surprised at what one had to do to get one of them to shoot straight. Change of barrel new trigger regulated valve and a few more odds and bits. I would have binned the thing long before that but Pete was very persistent and finally got it to work. But I would never want one.

Dan, No you can't fit It straight to the stock stealth bottle as there different threads and you still need the stealth valve, top hat etc. You need an extra part, which just strengthens Scubas argument I spoke to gunpower and they wanted a fair amount of money for the adaptor and wouldn't sell just the adaptor to me so I bought just the adaptor S/H. This Is the adaptor http://www.airforceairguns.com/co2_adapter.html and then that screws on to a HPA tank then the valve screws onto the adaptor. You can use the same tank as they use In paintball (one with the pin valve and reg fitted) like this but those are usually set to around 850psi output and depending on your set up It will give you different muzzle velocitys. But that is my whole point. I don't want to "get " it to perform. I expect the people that make them to do the faffing about ( product development ) before they put it in that box, so that the person who parted with his cash get a finished product.

I would expect to pump it up maybe adjust the trigger to my liking, zero the scope and go out and shoot and expect it to do its job.

 

Look at it in another way. If you buy a car you would expect it to get you from A to B when you start it up and do your thing. Not put brake discs in it first because the manufacturer thinks that the milk bottle tops they put in would be sort of ok. Buy and fit a windscreen because they think its good enough to have that part covered with cheap ply wood.

 

See what I am getting at. I can get one of them to shoot straight, but its not my job ........ its theirs.
