mad al 146
End of the line today, the last game is being played there right now as the Blues entertain Edinburgh before they move to a new stadium. This venue has so much history and a place where dreams often became reality. Good luck to both teams playing there today
Rolfe 2
I Have many happy memories of the "Old Arms Park" both the National stadium and the ground adjacent to it. We had many a session in the old North Enclosure........watching England play Wales. It must have been the late 70's or early 's the last time i was there.........i can remember i was still playing at the time and was recovering from a broken leg. I have memories of a lovely little tale from those days.....Myself and a playing colleague were standing on the terraced steps watching a particularly bruising encounter between the Welsh and English and we were the only Englishmen is a sea of red Welsh shirts. There was a bit of a lull in the singing.........so my mate decided to chant England, England, there was a deathly silence as all eyes turned towards us.........Then a in a lovely lilting welsh voice an elderly gentleman just behind us with his grandson said " I tell you something..........i think your outnumbered" He was quite right in his assumption. Happy Days Rolfe.
Malt 379
Shame they wouldn't move when they built they built the Millennium Stadium. The WRU offered to relocate them, they refused, so they had to reduce the overall capacity of the Millennium. Fast forward 10 years & they're moving anyway... @Rolfe. Be a different story if that had happened at a football match, eh mate?
