davyt63 1,845
hi every one just popped back home for a couple hours kip and back out at 4 am .have invited a couple of lads of the aaoc to a shoot bag so far 13 will update later with post and pics regards davy UPDATE: hi i had invited paul & harvey down for a bit of vermin contol after meeting them at the shepreth HFT meet as we got on really well together, and seems there from a different forum the AAOC which i also am a member. they took up the challange to take on the THL .22 marksman vs the AAOC .177 marksman. as .22 repersenting THL & .177 the AAOC i would like to tell you all THL won 11-9 well the evening got of to a good start with paul & harvey getting to us safely, and they brought the good weather with them. the plan was we would go up early evening and show paul and harvey the boundaries and the hot spots, and took the rifles "WOULD BE RUDE NOT TO" well that all went paired shaped when the lads seen all the bunnies we all decide to go in different ways leaving paul & harvey by are favorite hotspots so they a least had a chance to bag, we had the radios to keep in touch. and said to meet back at the car when the light was fading to do a bit of lamping. so of i went and found a warren what is not particuly busy but waited and waited then the first target was up THWACK down it went ,i left it there for a while till another popped out and THWACKED that as well any way by this time the light was fading and i was on the radio to meet back at the car and get are lamps on, after a quick bit of lamping THL .22 marksman were winng 8-6 a total bag of 14 here is a pic i know!! its poor quality its me phone by this time it was 12.00am so of home for a bite to eat and a beer which someones had to many all will be revealed in a pic, and YES! a couple of hours sleep because we were back out at 4:00am,and this is the veiw we had on are dawn raid not bad A we all got kitted out and set of again letting paul & harvey having first choice of the hot spots sunday was a lovely day nice and sunny a 2mph wind a good day for rabbit control the day got of to a slow start for the others, i went to the tin mine this is why they call it that, if you look closely you can see by the nettles that the path they take and got down into a prone position facing south with a light wind in me face, it wasnt long before a bunnie was out and it wasnt long before i THWACKED it either long shot from where i was and where it fell had this kit as wel from here then i made the lads some corndog sarnies and a flask of tea the night before, so lunch was on us by now and had a bit of luch and took in the view harvey paul charlie was still out in the field catching a few zzzzzzz , paul and harvey spotted some fox cubs so we watched them for a while i think it was an excuse to take a breather after all the lager they had it does narff take it out of you walking up and down from the valley and i was messing about with me phone camera again me in amonst the nettles where i got stung but a good sniper point it was a great day out & the rabbit control was a bonus, it was good to see paul & harvey again and im sure it wont be the last. we took 20 bunnies out and the farmer was pleased and said they can come again total score over the week end was i think to THL .22 marks man 11-9 AAOC.177 marksman thaks charlie, harvey ,paul, happy hunting davy Edited May 11, 2009 by davyt63 Quote Link to post

Harvey1972 0
I can confirm that we (Davy, Charlie, Paul any myself) had a grand total of 20 over a period of about 12 hours. I would also like to thank Davy and Charlie for their invite to this "Moonlight valley", It really is a fantastic place with plenty of bunnys and other wildlife that was a privilege to watch. The pictures you have seen in previous post dont do it justice. (But by christ it's a long way to the top from the bottom, as we found out on far to many occasions, My legs are still acheing) I'm sure Davy will enlighten you more with some pictures shortly, The only pics i managed where of the 3 we had in part 1 of the early morning session. Thanks again guys. Quote Link to post
