  1. That Zac is a good dog. He's young, he's keen, he's strong, he's biddable and he's done some work on the lamp. Hope he finds a good home

Also I just noticed your comment 'nothing better to do today' ... I see, so I brave the wilds of the motorway every week to go mooching with you because you have nothing better to do? I let you put your dogs in my precious car because you are bored, is that it?

Those cakes better be chocolate, with chocolate buttercream, or I ain't coming back!

    My blimmin presence isn't enough!!

And here I was, thinking you came for my charming personality :cray:

  2. Nothing better to do today so friends came for a wander, and the sun was out for a change :D

  3. A pedigree is just the dogs lineage usually over 3 generations - so maybe that question isn't as stoopid as it first appears.

Was once told that my bull lurcher of 23" had Dane in it - woman had worked with Danes all her life and knew these things.

My Borzoi is apparently an EBT cross due to the long nose.

  4. Are the hearing and sight problems in merle due to brain damage?

    No.

    Faulty genetics causing deformities.

Can have the same trouble mating silver ferts too.

I don't get why people want merles. Why they specifically aim for merle pups. May as well be breeding epilepsy into a line.

  5. Why do people breed merles knowing these problems :/

I would get the eyes checked too. Entropy is also common in merles, plus other sight problems.

I wouldn't consider a deaf dog a liability anymore than a hearing dogs liabilities.

Hand signals are quick and easy to teach and can be very useful when quiet is needed. And most dogs read signals than respond to vocal commands anyway.

It all depends on if you have the time and patience for the learning curve YOU need.

  6. Just had a quick read through this and I don't know how the fella can lay straight in bed at night!

6pack major praise for doing your best there isn't anything else you could have done.

Sorry to hear you have ended up down on money through this dickhead.

Send me your PayPal and I'll send you a few quid for trying to help.

Come on lads get a few quid each shipped over to help the lass out.

    Liam

That's really sweet of you but totally unnecessary Thank you. :victory:

  7. This was a favour Simo a big one she has been more than kind. I´ve had enough of this crap none of you know me except for a couple who WHEN we were mates was always on the phone etc but now I´m a messer not that I give a shiite what they think or tbh any of you. You don´t know the full story only what your told !!!

The one person I do give a fec about is 6pack she has been messed about by me unintentionally I have vowed to resolve it and I will.

THERE IS NO WAY I AM GOING TO SCREW THIS WOMAN OVER REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU LOT THINK as I said you don´t know me

    Just an update.

Trev has now gone to stay with some other friend of Mushys.

The cash expected last month arrived, but that promised this month has not.

Regardless of what this lot think, you screwed me over. Simple.

  8. I think you got off very lightly.

It's OK saying you were the only car on four lanes, but if you had crashed, that wouldn't be the case. What of the fire and ambulance crews, police, that would have been necessary to save you, doctors and nurses at the hospital.... and at that speed a very small amount of debris would have been all it takes. People that don't even know you would have been effected.

Very short sighted to consider you weren't hurting anyone.

  9. Didn't know anyone when I joined but made some great friends.

Often read as a guest, only log on to comment.

All the mods I have 'conversed' with seem to be of sound mind and do a thankless task.

    Leave well alone IMO.

  10. I don't think benefits need to be capped if the government just changed a few strategies on who was eligible .

If the cap is all about lowering the deficit, then the increase in unemployment will cancel that out surely?

Close loop holes, change a few policies and those that need help will be rightfully receiving it.

  11. The KC have a lot to answer for, encouraging breeding grotesques. The standards particularly calling for a dog to have 2 full testicles, like it makes a difference in the show ring.

But then the ring is geared as a giant sex sale anyway, to see the best of the best for breeding stock.

    But they aren't soley responsible.

You could walk round my estate and buy several staffies. Every man and his dog is breeding them, and they are cheap to buy. Churned out like butter from a dairy.

Cheaper to buy a new one than to bail the old one from the pound. Kids soon forget the old dog with another cute puppy.

A local rescue offered free neutering, we knocked on doors, told people the figures for the amount of staffy types being destroyed every day, but they wanted their bitch to have a litter.

'She's a nice dog and a couple of mates have said they want one' Neighbours got a good dog and it's good for them to have a litter...'

I think it would take much more than a year to clear up current problems with numbers.

  12. Jesus most lads with a new baby would be happy to have a dog to work.

just if it means getting out for a few hours here and there

We had a new baby a few months ago and i done the opposite

i got another pup,and some of the best time me and the the kids have is out and about with the dogs.

it's simple 9 times out of 10 it's the bird putting her foot down and saying get rid of the dog.

Having a baby is not meant to be the end of your life ,it's meant to be a new chapter

having working dogs is not a hobby it's a way of life and if you cant fit them in with having children you shouldn't have them in the 1st place

I must be the odd one lol.

But the midwifes face when she came to check the baby and all the dogs sat around was priceless.

She even asked when I would be rehoming the dogs!
