  1. They just keep coming, just short of 500 in the ladder trap now 87 yesterday in the trap, and 42 shot so a combined total of just short of a thousand birds. And there's still plenty around!
  2. Few hours this morning with the Hushpower,36 shot 27 picked,so that's 340 birds shot in the last few weeks. And 202 in the ladder trap in the last week,Still plenty around lol,but they are getting wiser.
  3. Just been out for a slab of shells, and phoned a mate to give me a hand next Saturday morning,so hopefully all goes to plan, hopefully looking at breaking the 100 bag size.
  4. yes mate, same place as last time.Pretty tricky to shoot them at the minute, the grass is so long you can't find them,so I have to try and drop them in a small clearing, makes it fun and concentrated the mind lol. Them clay shells I used today killed much better than the Fiocchi 3" shells.
  5. Just in from a good mornings sport with the Husher! picked 64,guess I shot another dozen on top of that ,they fell into long grass so I left them for Charlie. Running low on 3" carts so was using Gamebore 21/2" 9 shot 14 gram loads, seem to have done the business. Had a few good bags of late, guess 300+ in the last few weeks, and plenty more to go at. Also had 2 birds for the one shot today?
  6. Nice mate,I'm out in the morning so fingers crossed I bag a few.I've noticed this time of Year at certain times its like turning a tap off, with little to no movement, normally mid morning and mid afternoon, maybe they take time out to digest food?
  7. Yep I'm sure it is mate,British troops are there as we speak training anti poaching teams. It's over 20 years since I was last there, the gazelle was very tasty though lol. I've seen some very remote Masai villages,Archers post and Don dol areas, and witnessed some of there flash floods.
  8. Seen a lot of Kenya myself, with the military but plenty of down time, went to some remote areas and seen lots of wildlife.Great place to visit,I've been twice. Had a great BBQ ,one of the rangers ex 22 Sas took us out and shot a couple of Thompson gazelle, non of this popping to Tesco's malarkey.
  9. I agree mate and it ain't just the holidays lol, best thing would be get on a plane with a one way ticket outta here, the place has gone to the dogs!
  10. Try pushing the range out a bit,I find with the tight choking on the Husher it's more effective a little further out when the shotstring has had a chance to open up 20-30 yards. Trust me on this, give it a go,the cartridge is more than capable at this range.I've been using Fiocchi 18g 71/2s and they kill well.
  11. My mate had the Mossberg 3 shot,he traded it in for the Baikal single shot,he said the Mossy was to front heavy and the Baikal was much better balanced.
  12. Yep the ,410 Hushpower is a trade off for shooting in close proximity to houses and early starts,I often wonder if the bag size would be bigger with the extra range, knock down power of the 12g and second barrel. I just love the .410, hardly taken any of the other guns out since I bought the Husher lol
  13. Still a nice bag mate, that's the thrill of decoying, you can never predict how its going to go.
  14. Good luck sounds promising, was going myself tomorrow but the drink is going down well tonight, so I reckon a rain check tomorrow lol.
  15. Good luck mate, let us know how it goes.
  16. Yes les I also do that,I have a Full body crow decoy and I've put a strong magnet in the foot plate so he sticks to feeders, trailers, pig arcs etc,I've called him Jack B****** lol, because when his mates come to chat they get shot lol
  17. That's good going mate,a very productive day,well done.
  18. I also find its the close birds I miss, that's due to the tight choke, anything between 15 / 30 yards is normally dead.
  19. I had problems when I first got mine,,to the extent I was considering getting rid of it! But it's the gun I would keep hold of now,the only thing I would say is I find it shoots a little low, incoming birds block them out with the barrel,LR and RL birds just pull through them as with any other gun.I've had some good results lately so the gun and cart are up to the job, just stick with it and it will all come good.
  20. Just seen your using 28g shells,are u using a 12 gauge hushpower?
  21. Lyvale express supreme game are a good shell,so are Fiocchi F410 but a tad noisy. Eley subsonics are good, but I don't think worth the extra money. And remember if you use subsonic carts they are much slower than standard carts.
  22. I wouldn't invite them again mate, plenty of lads after a days shooting.
  23. What shells are you using? Subsonics by any chance?
  24. I don't get it mate,Corvid shooting ranks up there with pigeons to me.Good luck for tomorrow,I will be out again mid week.
