  1. You won't go far wrong with the 97. Bolt a scope on & shoot it for a few tins before doing any tinkering though, just to make sure everything is as it should be. John
  2. I would think £300 is about right if it's 'Mint'. I would be tempted to shoot a shot string over a chrono first though, just to check that there are no problems with the gas ram. John

I believe the gas ram in the Gamo range of guns along with a few other makes are sealed units, unlike the gas rams in the Theoben range which are user serviceable enabling you to carry out a spring conversion quite easily using the parts already in the gun. It may be the case that you will have to source a piston from a similar Gamo spring powered gun. John

Hi all, Been shooting over 30 years now, airguns, rimfire, centrefire & shotgun, and if I can, fit it in a bit of fishing as well Got a bit of a man cave going on too with a small bench lathe, pillar drill etc for a bit of tinkering. Looking forward to taking part on this forum & maybe pass on some knowledge whilst picking up some tips along the way. Cheers, John
