  1. If only you two had worked harder at school eh? P.S Dunno about the elephant. Cats, primates bear and pachyderms ain't for me. Although they might be better than feeding a pack of dogs whilst pretending it's hunting? All the best.
  2. Last place I hunted them was 40,000 acres. You 'hunt' them with a team of dogs in what? Four square meters? They have no chance to get away as your digging them out with a load of much needed doggies? You go fishing with a net in a rain barrel too?
  3. Far from an advocate of animal welfare too. I see a few cows had you bayed in a tree from a recent post of yours. The hunter became the hunted eh! ? You wrote :- "3 of us ended up a tree one night for at least an our surrounded while the dogs were free bein charged at some night of laughing glad your ok " Shame you didn't man up to help prevent them being trampled by the cows.
  4. This isn't a discussion on hunting. Clearly the two dog men are very naive and quite possibly trolling. It's always interesting to watch people try and take the moral high ground as pretty much all of them fail. Making comments about Ferraris and attractive young women has nothing to do with hunting it's just an insight into the mentality of the individual. There's clearly misunderstanding in his posts, but also shades of envy otherwise why make materialistic type comments etc. Sadly most of these discussions resort to some kind of weird inferiority complex which won't ever be cured.
  5. Hunting native animals in their own country is sporting. Hunting 'feral' animals, such as those who have escaped captivity and having to use a pack of dogs is something else. The hunter hunting native species has a challenge of animals in their hone that they have known all of their lives. An escaped feral cat or similar is at a disadvantage. An animal shot with a rifle will have a quick and humane death. Hunting animals as you do will subject them to stress, fear and being torn apart by a pack of dogs is very different to being shot. I'm not sure you're in a position t
  6. Yep. There are a few videos of hunters being charged and gored by them too. PH's are killed by them occasionally. That's why I disagree with comparing them to a friesian cow!
  7. That was written in response to a particularly moronic post where no understanding of wild animals was shown by its author.
  8. Last week Namibia have made it a condition of all hunting permits that no trophy pictures be posted on social media. How on earth they can police this I don't know. Namibia is often used as a great example of managed hunting. Not only are their species numbers managed they ensure that revenue from hunting goes back into the local communities. They are the first country to suggest this.
  9. That's a contender for the most naive post written in 2018 so far. I hunt deer in the UK. Legally I have to use a rifle of specific calibre depending on species and country. Whilst I deffo have the fieldcraft to get within distance to throw a spear or use a bow it's illegal. Everything gets consumed and we have government scientists advising that we're not culling enough deer in certain parts of the UK. It's easy to justify, ethical and needs doing. Bambi doesn't just trot out in front of you and stand broadside though..... There's very little opposition from the public too. Ho
  10. Bird, with all due respect that's a very naive thing to say. Why do you think they're nicknamed 'widowmaker' and 'black death' in Africa. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/zimbabwe/9324431/British-hunter-killed-by-buffalo-he-was-trying-to-shoot.html https://huntforever.org/2015/05/14/gored-by-a-cape-buffalo/ https://www.africahunting.com/threads/hunter-gored-by-buffalo-warning-graphic-content.38276/ http://allthatsinteresting.com/claude-kleynhans-killed-by-buffalo There many, many more stories and videos of people being killed by b
  11. These were in the Kalahari so on soft sand which deadened a lot of noise. But yep, I have heard them in the Eastern Cape.
  12. The makers of Bambi, Jungle Book and the Lion King have a lot to answer for.......
  13. New Zealand sounds fabulous. If you ever fancy South Africa or Namibia drop me a PM. I can recommend a couple of outfitters who'll take great care of you. I returned to the UK last sunday and if I'm brutally honest have spent most of my time thinking how I can get back there next year. lol
