Hello all,
My first time posting up a project so here goes.. be gentle lol!!
So I got a Diana\milbro G80 stamped 78. 7 so I assume this is july 1978, I have read into the history of the rifles and have heard reviews comparing them to British layland at its worst to a very underestimated rifle.. I decided to make my own judgment.
SO firstly I grabbed it stuck in the stock (after a long wait as parcel force48 only work mon-tue-weds apparently) and threw 40 odd pellets through as quick as possible RWS super domes. not bad shooting quietly, very quietly but cocking like there is a crisp packet inside and the recoil seems all weird not smooth at all..

I can post them in a private convo... weird lol!!

so my 95 fell through and got a Diana\milbro G80 for postage off Johnie Bravo....
absolute peach I am having major trouble loading pictures on here am well happy!!
sorted out a bit of trigger wobble with a washer, sanded down and oiled the stock.. it does need reblueing!!
full internal overhaul, spring was fine but everything got a good deburr and regreasing (was like glue inside) added a plastic spring sleve to reduce noise (its fricking quiet anyway)and now am getting standing 20p groups and 30yrds with HTT power copper coated and 10p groups with jsb's and bisley magnums (well surprised with the magnums)
too say I am addicted is an understatement.. a few days work (is it work if your enjoying it this much????) and a rifle that cocked like a crisp packet with 3" groups at 30 yards is now hitting the kill zone with very little effort or noise.. not as powerful or accurate as my 77 but this rifle will have its place, its light.. short and accurate.. what more could you want!!
if someone could help me regards to the pictures I would appreciate it!!
Atb (a very happy indeed) Ade

Am in the middle of a G80.. Very addictive past time and my first one.. Very addictive!

I remember the old sabbo Sussex things in the 80s ...couldn't hit a barn door with them but they would go straight through a 2 pence piece at point blank...impressive when you are kid lol

This was kinda what I was getting at.. I fired off 5/6 and the group wasn't great but again I didn't clean the barrel or anything very unscientific!

It depends matey, I know a fair bit about the crossmans have tuned a few up.. Can PM me for a bit of advice if you want? they can be as accurate as hell and hit like a hammer under 25 yards..
-
I should know this.. Thanks bud!copper don't rust mate nor lead.

By no means a scientific test.. Forgot my targets when I went to the range so messed outside hope to try them again soon.. Sounds stupid but I like the colour and I wonder will they not be as affected by rust?
-
I am using the htt power things.. Posted a couple of things and no one said anything.. My 77k likes em.. Good penetration for a light pellet, I can't dig them out of a tree at 45 yrds

So little update! Rifle (thanks to johnnie bravo) arrived today!
Not bad looking at all in all honesty. A nice "70's" feel to the design, heavyish.. But nothing on my 77k and nearly as well balanced. Fits nicely in one Palm and does not rock in a steady spot!!
40 or so pellets later with the open sights and I was starting to get a consistant grouping at 23yrds.
Can't post pics from my phone so will stick a few up tomorrow.. Nice restoration project so will post as I go if anyone's interested!

Hello all, am just wondering if anyone uses NV on a springer? (An add on unit I mean) does the recoil make it a no no?
-
No it's all good mate, I rang em.. This happened to me last week but the other way round.. I am in no hurry to receive it and it's still there they just never bothered collecting it as it won't move till Monday.. I think it's bad form on their behalf, they don't even bother with it !! And they won't do anything for Ya if you ask them just throw there hands up and say.. Meh?!? Bit of a rant sorry haha

Hello guys,
So I felt I needed to add a little to this.. I may have different experiences but never post parcel 48 on a Thursday.. It seems for some reason they shut down if you post Thursday you receive Tuesday..
Now two working days (the 48 promised in the name.. Parcelforce48) to me, and correct me if I am wrong.. Is Monday?!?
So this makes me wonder.. What do they do on Saturdays? Because there are deliveries made on a Saturday if you pay a premium.. Which means my package posted on a Thursday can arrive on a Saturday.. This makes even less sense to me
Would it not make sense to continue to use the routes as Normal? I'm the sense I might not get it Saturday but it could be a lot closer? Because it seems they only look after saturday stuff? Strange buissness model in my opinion..
So if your impatient like me (and I assume I am not alone) when waiting by the door, checking the curtain wondering why it's not there.. It's because they probably are not coming.. Grab your jacket, and handful of pellets and go take it out on some cans.. Please add your own favourite expletive to this..
ATB a slightly miffed, Ade ?

Completely agree mate! Have been testing these out lately on my 77 and whilst the trajectory is constantly accurate your right the drop off is crazy! To be fair, with regard the magnums... If any one has shot these through a springer... the drop is unbelievable. Like a stone they fall. 4 dots you have to give for a 30 yard paper target. Just remembered that from the post above.
Almost unusable.

Just got a 77k.. Similar problem.. Interested in the outcome! Saw a few on eBay but not sure what's gonna be worth it

I think you should see air rifle reviews when deciding

The new Tin last week was a new one from the tinternet different batch! The raider ate all the last lot and some lol!! reckon I had just had a good bunch, I thought they were individually sorted?
-
Could be a rookie mistake from me to you guys but I notived this the other day down the range! The raider loved the jsb's but I got a job lot for cheap and they were sound! I grabbed a tin last week and thought it was my shooting on a springer after not having had one for a few months, I kept getting dodgy flyers! I swapped through the pellets to see if it was just being fussy but wasn't as bad as they made me think, superdomes were clover holes at 35... And that's just as light, but has a double skirt.. The 77 loves the htt power though but just don't feel hard to me if that makes sense! The magnums are great but the drop off is massive lol! Prob makes no sense gents lol.. And as Mac will tell Ya I never have a camera lol!
