I can ask him. How much for the box, and where do you live in SW?
-
Yes, my mate uses one. Why do you ask?

A few more to wet your appetites .....

It should be published by now. Enjoy.

Wise words once again Walshie.

Yeah, fair play I find mine so easy to use and reliable. One of the big advantages of the unit is that you can use the aperture on the camera to control the amount of light hitting the sensor. My Nightmaster is on full punch all the time and I just tweak the aperture to fine tune the amount of light required for the shot.
It cost me around £400 in total, including the Photon. I'll never knock the Drone Pro as it an excellent piece of kit, but I could never justify spending almost £2k on an NV scope. Not for my needs anyway.
-
You remove the original Photon lens and replace it with a camera lens. An adapter is required to marry both together. There are loads of threads on the NV Forum UK about the conception and how we reached the final article. Here are some of my earlier videos -

I regularly shoot foxes beyond 200 yards. Mind you, I gave my Photon to the 'XTreme' conversion over 12 months ago. I get roughly a x12 mag out of mine.

I use my Photon on three different rifles ....... .22LR, .17 Hornet and .223. No problems whatsoever with POI shift. Just make sure that you use GOOD picatinny rails and QR rings.
As Darren says ......
1) Zero the rifle and record the X & Y coordinates.
2) Always mount the scope on the same position on the rail each time.
3) Always apply the same amount of pressure when securing the rings to the rail.

It looks like something out of a Mad Max movie! . Well done mate.

Good shooting Ian.

+1 for Matt. He is spot on.

I generally drop a few crow decoys on the edge of my pigeon pattern. It gives me the opportunity of a crow or two that may be passing by. . I don't think that I have ever mixed them in with the pigeon pattern though.

My pleasure chum.

I have run a wired brush through mine before to loosen the grime, but a patch is a new one on me mate.
Take it along to a tyre-fitters and ask them can you give it a few blasts with the air hose. It might just pop it out into the main channel. Remember to wear some safety specs!

The price of equipment varies mate. Second hand kit in good condition would be your best route if cost is the number one priority.
I reload for three main reasons, and in this order of priority - 1) A greater degree of consistency from round to round which helps maintain accuracy, 2) Availability of ammo, 3) Cost.
How much then? Roughly -
A tub of powder (say £35) should fill around 600 rounds, maybe a few more.
600 Hornady V-Max (say £125).
Small rifle primers (say £25).
Brass? 100 Hornady (say £70). Obviously this figure will depend on how many times you re-use the brass.
So on these figures I would expect each shot to cost you somewhere between 38p and 44p.
It has been a long time since I left school so my maths is not the best these days ( ), but this should you an idea.

I dropped one last Thursday evening. 50 yards with an Eley subsonic round. She wasn't aware of me and didn't even twitch when the round hit.

Yes, plenty of news but no gun.
i'm holding out for a new CZ. Edgars promised end of May, then June, then July. Apparently it will still be a "couple of weeks."
My RFD is trying to talk me into a Ruger 77 instead as he can get one in in a week but they are £300 more than the stupid CZ.
I'm sure it's worth the wait....or should i have considered another calibre?
Yes .......... a .17 Hornet!

You have a will of iron Dek. Well done!

H335, H4895, Benchmark ... to name but a few.
-
Nope. Never taken mine ... ever. I would be guaranteed to lose mine for sure. As Slipper says, we are all on computer if the 'boys in blue' ever want to check.
-
Yes. With a 35 grain pill you should be able to get up around the 3800 fps mark, if that is what you are after. I've never used any lighter than a 40 grain in my .223 though.

This year's cubs by the look? I popped out for an hour last night and dropped one also. Happy days.
