  1. not the song birds etc, i just wanted to see if i can get the pigeons and magpies out the trees. i thought over the day it would of been pecked at atleast so i no theres some life out there.
  2. Okay so I followed the advice given. Went over without a gun and just looked, listened and sat waiting. Yesterday I put some bread down for the pigeons and some veg for the rabbits as there is an allotment further down the road so I thought they may eat their stuff. Come to look this morning and nothing has been touched at all. I took some pics of the land but can't put them up here. It won't let me do it via photo bucket and they are to big to upload straight to the forum. I walked the entire perimeter and didnt see a thing. Except birds I'm not allowed to shoot.
  3. You can borrow my car for a shoot on your land mate lol. I have asked the farmers who already have shooters if they would ask them if they want a tag along. I'm willing to learn off others and im old fashioned and would respect that they were shooting on there first if we were sharing land. I drove out about half hour the furthest place from my house. Just no one wants to know. The land I have is empty. I did what you said and best I found was birds I'm not allowed to shoot. Yet the field on the other side of the woods is full of magpies. It's like there's a shield on the land that an
  4. and when you run out of places to ask? most of the places round here apart from farms is council owned ground.
  5. i'll go over in abit, just to walk and listen. i'll take pics so you can see what im shooting on and various places on there i think may be of interest (but could be wrong) where rabbits may of been. the grass is far to long to look for droppings but the runs and holes in the ditch sides look interesting.
  6. It's true mate. Every country the white man stepped on he bought war, disease, slavery and suffering with them. Of course with this country political correctness hides the truth on some historic facts as it don't look good but... American Indians, aborigines, zulus and other various tribes or civilisations have all become a thing of the past.
  7. or maybe te Indians got hit with karma? I seen the programme about the flint arrow heads that were European and dated thousands of yrs before the native Americans crossed from asia I saw a documentary that the Welsh sailed over there in the dark ages. When humans first roamed the earth the top of North America joined the edge of Russia so walking over would of been easy then just walk south. Guess know one will ever truly no
  8. which ever indian killed custer he should of been made famous. another race of people stomped down by the white man.
  9. thats my next try mate. done sunrise, mid afternoon and sunset. theres only night i havent tried over there yet. got that planned for friday . i have a bright lamp i can use. shall i just go over when its just gone dark or late at night say 11pm?
  10. yeah i can take a joke and still getting to know you guys. i fell for it lol 30 places i went to today on my day off and every single one said no. i cant think of anymore places to go to, so i asked on here incase someone wouldnt mind teaming up or sharing. oh well
  11. I'm guessing this means someone don't like you asking for permissions lol?
  12. I wish there was some life to practice on mate. I've seen more meat on a vegetarians plate than what's walking about that field
  13. Hi all Anyone know of any land me and my mate can either shoot with someone with or have permission to shoot on with air rifles in the cannock and surrounding areas? thanks
  14. I'll give that a try. Your right mate I'm so hooked on looking for something to shoot I'm not looking much at the area. Been out a few hours now looking for more land but no body wants to know
  15. This is the first field I have to work on mate. When I went years ago with my mate and his dad you didn't even have to get out the car they would just be roaming around. Apart from runs in the long grass there is nothing to say there are even rabbits on there. We sat in the long grass by the holes for about half hour but my knees couldn't take anymore water so we moved on. Plenty of magpies etc flying about but none come into land where we can shoot
  16. Hi all. Been over the fields since 6 am and just got in. Not a bloody thing. Walked all round the fence line and over by their water source. Nothing. No pigeons landing anywhere and certainly no rabbits. Me and my mate have a big list of farms, garden centers and fisheries in the area in hope we get at least one yes on a decent bit of land. I haven't been This disappointed since I bought a box of condoms on the same day my Mrs dumped me.
  17. The place is waste deep with grass but there are patches of flat bits which animals must be eating. The runs in the tall grass lead to holes in the ditch sides. There's a pool of water with various prints in the mud which is their water source but it's away from the flat ground. I'll give it a try at 6 am or something when I'm not working.
  18. Disappointing really. 3 huge fields and not a dam thing. Plenty of pigeons flying About but none landing. It looks like there are rabbits cause u can see where they have run through the long grass and found a few holes about. Not a thing to have a pop at tho. I'm goin again Wednesday but goin about 7 or 8 maybe it will be better then.
  19. Cheers all. Well today I have paperwork saying I can shoot on 3 fields not far from my house which I'm pleased about. I'm going up for a look later see what it's like. I no there's lots of pigeons up there in the day. Gonna buy some targets we can stick in the ground to have more distance practice while we are there
  20. however far YLU can make the gun shoot 10 pellets within the 10p EVERYTIME... Ok mate ill keep hitting that. Ill even shoot a 10p to make sure
  21. I can hunt mate just not done it for a long long time and confidence is abit low and never done it with a spring gun. Ill get my target practice in now I have a big field to shoot over. I've never done it solo, my mates dad always set his gun up and we shot from where he told us etc.
  22. Cheers for the advice guys. There's a couple of gun clubs by me I'm going to go have a look at. I have been hitting targets well in my mates garden but that's why I wanted a field so we can practice at distances. What's the furthest roughly a .22 spring gun could be fired at and take a rabbit out cleanly? Last place I went they were stupid and you were more or less standing on them so it was easy. Just out of interest cuz I'm looking to eat the rabbits I kill, is there a thread on here about what to look for on the rabbits to decide wether they are good enough to eat?
