    Hiya lads.

Decided to make a slingshot, oak, brass and buffalo horn, I shoot trad longbow and with the sad events that are going on across the world I thought got a bit of time on my hands.

Try and put pick up, after some feed back of what I've made, design is toddys mule, brass pins hidden behind the forks horn and brass plate with oak on either side.

Done plenty of shooting shotgun, airgun, carp fishing and own a lazy twat of a lurcher lol, last time had a catty was 11 and it got pinched by a gang down by Birkenhead docks Merseyside, I'm now 52.

So any advice on the make or critics out there feel free, it weighs 7 ounces cheers. 15856719320514992082878477035984.jpg.055521fab77ec6d3b4807300bd358cc0.jpg

Nice looking frame that Lee, get some bands on it and get it out working.

Will make a good little pot filler ?

Just been for my Dailey allocated hours walk and managed to bag this off the local railway underpass, also came to an interesting conclusion regarding squirrels, every time a sunny day occurs during winter I can go out and almost guarantee a squirrel or two, yet since this period of sunny weather have been out looking most days and have not even seen one let alone shoot one, my dogs are pretty hot on them as well and will point them out if they are up trees or flush them if they are in scrub so it’s not me missing them they just aren’t there,  the other consistent thing since the sun came out is a vile easterly wind so I am suspecting that squirrels like fish won’t feed in an easterly wind anyone else noticing this ??

Nice shooting BB. There are pigeons all over now , just need a little more leaf cover to be able to stalk closer.

Thanks Mr Wilkes,  Ive been stocking up the freezer with pigeon this week , with the current situation in the world may come in handy. Rightly said tho, could do with a bit of cover ?

I think mine are tapered bands also, from your experience are straight bands better?atb scentchaser

Hi scentchaser, I've hunted and killed with both tapered and straight bands.

I believe im correct in saying that tapered accelerate quicker but I found that straight cut lasted longer.

The only real advice I can give you is practice, practice, practice and when you think you've got it practice some more ?
